"Vivian" is a fantasy novel in twenty-four chapters (plus prologue, three interludes and an epilogue), set in Clane, a border province of a decaying empire (map below). The title character is a woman who despite everyone's expectations, including her own, inherits the title of Countess of Clane, just at the moment when the whole shebang seems to be falling apart. She is faced not only with the daunting task of making all the men around her recognize her authority, but also with the
dangers posed by barbarian invasions and the mystery of her own family's arcane powers.
If you've read any of Vivian at all, please e-mail me just to tell me who you are and whether you liked it or not. If you want a list of the cast of characters, I can e-mail one to you. If you have any questions or comments, I'm available for praise or for flame at:

I hope you enjoy it, and yes, Vivian is a real person, she just doesn't happen to live in the same world as the rest of us.
