Gies Class Information

"80% of life is showing up." --Woody Allen

And the coveted Golden Chalk Holder goes to: CHRIS REED and LIBBY BUCKINGHAM. Chris not only writes exceptionally well but wrote a very upsetting short story and just generally seemed to contribute a lot to the class. "A very astonishing, enigmatic and obscurely horrible individual."

As for Libby... well, she's creative, she's hard-working, she's a really good person, and she's smart enough she could be a math major. But stay just as you are. I'm so glad you're back. Next year's student assistant has big shoes to fill, and no, I'm not making fun of your feet.

Explanation: "ICF" = in class final (40 pts); "THF" = take home final (40); "ICM" = in class midterm (56 pts); "THM" = take home midterm (24). Homework (120 pts), Journals (50) and so on are pro-rated in proportion; for instance, there were actually 115 pts worth of homework, so everyone's HW120 score is the homework total times 120/115. (This is why I have a PhD in math. It's okay, I'm a doctor.) If there are mistakes, let me know. The three blank rows are the three students who haven't got their THFs in as of Friday at 11:30 am.

Thanks for a really fun couple of classes. The 8 am class was orderly and brilliant; the 3:30 pm class found just the proper frequency of chaos for their creativity to shine through. I hope I have a lot of you in future classes.
