The celebration lasted hours, and was impressive! With hundreds of people from small children to the elderly dressed up to come together as a community to celebrate 460 years. Almost everyone was involved. The pictures below show the opening, as well as the oldest citizen (106 years old) being honored. They also did historical recreations from the early days settling the region and fishing the Pechora, to dealing with Reindeer, the Communist revolution, World War II and the contribution of Ust Cil’ma’s men to the ‘great patriotic victory,’ and modern exhibitions by soccer players and karate students.
