On board the ship! The ship was small but comfortable. The Captain (far right in the first picture) had a crew of two others whom he is training. He’s been in the business for twenty five years and while he loves the Pechora, he is tired of always being away from home and family. He’s training people now, and hopes to be able to move on to something new. The two crew members had separate quarters. In the cabin there were two rooms, the outer one (pictured) had two beds, one being the captains, and there were bunks for four in the inner room. The first picture is, left to right, me, Slava (a friend of Natasha’s family) and the captain. The second picture shows the Pechora river as we set out.
