I'm a forest ecologist and
conservation biologist. I arrived here with my family in the fall of
1996. I grew up in Asheville in between the Smoky Mountains and the Blue
Ridge in North Carolina. My undergraduate degree (Biology) is from Brown
University in Providence, my first taste of New England. I received an
M.S. in Zoology at the University of Florida and a Ph.D. from the
University of Michigan in 1991 in the Department of Biology. I worked as
a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Evolutionary Ecology of the
