Hello! I'm a former physicist, for the past decade an academic computing systems adminstrator at the University of Maine at Farmington. I'm particularly interested in helping people communicate using computer networks, so I work with special zeal on UMF's electronic mailing lists and on extending our campus network. I set up the first commercial Internet service provider in the Farmington area. I'm a member of the UMF's Campus Technology Committee and former member of Maine School Administrative District 9's Computing and Technology Committee.

I have strong interests in Russia and the Russian language, nonviolence and peace activism (neglected in recent years), and playing 'cello.

I'm married to a poet, Lee Sharkey, and my son, Pat Liddy, received the 1998 Winkin award as the best high school baseball player in Maine, and is now a student and athlete at the University of Southern Maine.
