SHADOW IN THE CORNER

Shadow in the corner...

who could that be there?

Weeping...so lonely they seem.

Someone reaches out to hold

the crying one,

the one shedding tears

But no one is able to comfort

a soul that is all fears.

Flame flickering high behind me.

This crevice is so cold.

No escaping the nightmare

should make us more bold,

No one can find me

the light is too dim,

no one will guide me

or lift up my chin.

My heart is slowly breaking,

each piece has a different tale-

this one an unseen desire,

that is the dying flower....

Why didn’t anyone care?

Suddenly the candle falls over

and fire is all around.

But still the corner is dreary

like the thoughts inside my mind.

Cleanse my body, fire and flame...

Hold me, comfort me, or at least try to care

for the shadow in the corner....weeping....

so lonely they are there.
