A picture in my mind
is of you with a smile
That face I’ve know for
so long; almost 18 years now.
Remember the fun we had,
the way we spent those days.
Playing in the backyard,
walking down the road
going inside before dark,
because our mother’s loved us so.
Every year I saw you grow,
always a little behind me.
Other friends tried to compete
but they never could compare
with this friendship, because
it’s so close, so deep.
Know I’ll always be there.
