These pictures represent a common event in Russia – getting together with friends and having a small feast. The three girls in the second picture have a guitar group and compete in events, and have real talent. It’s also typical to sing – especially if someone has a guitar or accordion, when celebrating. Often someone will simply break into song, usually an old folk song, and others will join in. Again, Russians know how to have fun! Those at UMF might recognize Zina, who was a guest professor her a couple years ago (and hopefully will come back soon).
