I saw pictures of the gardens and grounds of Versailles in summer, and those pictures were beautiful. In November, though the gardens still are huge, and you can see the canal on the lower left where the King's war ships would come towards the palace on parade (the canal is connected to the Seine river, which runs through Paris). Other palaces, such as Schoenbrunn in Venice, also have magnificent grounds.
