When I was in Tuebingen in early November they were having the St. Martin's Markt, a festival that is held once a year in which the entire Innenstadt becomes a market.   It was lively and fun.   Tuebingen is a university city, very progressive, and absolutely beautiful.  Famous Germans such as Goethe have lived in Tuebingen (they even have an historical marker to a window Goethe vomited from once when as a student he did a bit too much partying).  The markets sell everything from Gluehwein (hot spiced wine) to candies, sweaters, knick knacks, fruits, and of course sausages, pastries, and sweets.   One can wander for hours amongst the different set ups, though I only had time to snap a few photos before getting to work.
