The Rhein river runs through Bonn; I used to jog or ride my bike along the trail, or go for walks. The river flows north, and boats that are heading downstream go rather slow, one can almost keep up with them by walking! Boats heading north go quickly. Above is a ship with passengers on a Rhein cruise heading south (probably it left from either Duesseldorf or Koeln - Cologne - each just north of Bonn), and a look down the path towards the old government section. The tall building next to the river is the old office building of Bundestag representatives. Though Bonn is small and quaint compared to Berlin, the Rhein gave the old Bonn Republic a very beautiful and soothing location.
