Above you see the train station and a lot of construction in front of it -- typical of former East Germany, the building goes on. Just beyond that construction you head towards the city center. The section above was demolished in WWII bombing, so you see what East Germans thought of as good city lay out -- large buildings across from each other, looking boring and practical, with an area in between for pedestrians and perhaps a celebratory march.
