- Read pages 91-93 in CWD. Then, starting on page 93, do 1-4.
- Read pages 98 - 99 in CWD. Then, starting on page 100, do 9-12. For each of these problems, also find the absolute extrema on the interval (-infinity, infinity).
- Gateway Retakes: During office hours or Thursdays, 12-1 in Ricker Addition 207. If you got less than 5/10 on your last attempt, you will not be allowed
to retake the Gateway Exam until after you have gone to SI or the Math Clinic and reviewed your Gateway with a tutor. The tutor must sign the Gateway before you can retake it.

- Do the optimization problems on the handout from class.

- Read pages 168-173 in CD.
- Read pages 102-103 in CWD. Then, starting on page 104, do problems 13-16. For problems 13-15, also find the following: domain, x-intercepts (not for 13), y-intercepts, asymptotes, intervals of increase and decrease, local max and min, intervals of concavity, points of inflection. Then, sketch the graphs.

- Using our class definition of area under the curve, find the area under the curve y = 2x+3 from x = 0 to x = 3.
- Using our class definition of area under the curve, find the area under the curve y = 3x-4 from x = 2 to x = 5. First use 3 rectangles. Then use 6 rectangles. Then us n rectangles.
- In CWD, read pages 162 - 164. Starting on page 164, do 5-8, 11, 12.
- Using our class definition of area under the curve, find the area under y = (x-1)^2 from x = 1 to x = 3.
