FINAL ASSIGNMENTS

(1) Eighth Essay

Write an essay in which you make an argument about some topic within the context of an academic discipline (e. g., history, sociology, elementary education, biology).  You might argue the merits of mainstreaming for children with special needs, or explain why you think creationism should not be taught in high school science classes, or defend Truman's decision to use the atomic bomb against Japan at the end of World War II.  In the course of your argument, refer to at least two academic sources written for students and scholars in the discipline you have chosen.  Document your references using either the MLA format described in the Little English Handbook or some other format appropriate to the discipline you are working in.
