I'm a forest ecologist and conservation biologist. I arrived here with my family in the fall of 1996. I grew up in Asheville in between the Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge in North Carolina. My undergraduate degree (Biology) is from Brown University in Providence, my first taste of New England. I received an M.S. in Zoology at the University of Florida and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1991 in the Department of Biology. I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Evolutionary Ecology of the University of Kentucky.  See below, if you'd like to know more about my research, student research opportunities, courses I teach, web links, and general job and internship opportunities..
