ENG
212--Beginning Nonfiction Workshop:
Introduces students, through lots of reading
and weekly short exercises, to the basic craft elements of creative
nonfiction. Students are required to attend literary readings, do
small group work outside of class, keep a writers notebook, critique each
others work, and turn in at least two revisions of a 5 page piece of
creative nonfiction, which can be personal essay, memoir, or any other
permutation of the genre. Playfulness and
experimentation are stressed in
this class.
ENG 312--Advanced Nonfiction
Workshop: An advanced workshop available only to students who
have successfully completed ENG 212. Students continue to read and do
weekly exercises, but are expected to complete high-quality drafts of
either two essays, or one essay and either a radio or video essay.
